FINAL Blog Change →
One More Blog Change
I’ve finally made my final blog change. Sorry for all the confusion. Tumblr didn’t have the features I thought it did - should’ve done my research.
I’ve now switched over to wordpress for my blog. Tons more features and a much more editable interface. It’ll just make for a much better blogging experience. PLUS, my favorite part is that I could import all my...

PREMEDITATED
Easter is probably my favorite day of the entire year.
As a Christian, there’s no better day to celebrate. Our God is alive! I always love the Good Friday service and the Easter sunrise service. I enjoy the family time and most of all the reflection on what Jesus did for us. How profound that the High and Lifted up One, Jesus, would become low and humbled and die the lowest most inhumane...

BUSiness As Usual
This week, I call it quits as a bus driver. I didn’t even last a full school year. It’s not because I didn’t like it, it’s simply because my new employment arrangement will just work better. I’ll scale back from being quadri-vocational to tri-vocational and I’ll get more hours in at Lasaters Coffee. It will be nice.
I’ve really enjoyed bus driving and it...

1-800-CALLGOD
I recently had to call Dish Network because a debt collector said I owed them a $55 installation fee from 1997. What was I doing in 1997 installing Dish Network, you ask? Good question. I was 14 and in 8th grade then. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t installing Dish. I’m pretty sure it would’ve taken me about a month of saving my allowance to pay for the install fee.
So, I called...

How God Used the 'No-Namers'
Yesterday, I blogged about a seemingly insignificant group of people in Acts 11 whose names weren’t even important enough to record in Scripture: “The No-Namers.” Just because their names didn’t make it into the Bible, however, doesn’t mean they were insignificant. God used their boldness and obedience to change the course of Christianity. We’re talking...

Power to the No-Namers
“The No-Namers.”
“The Leftovers.”
“The Extras.”
Whatever you want to call them, you know who they are (or actually, you don’t). They’re the people who contributed to the movie, but didn’t make the credits. They played a very minor role in the movie such as walking down a sidewalk in a group of people or being one of many nameless customers...

The Biggest Weekend in Christianity
There were a lot of things I loved about being a youth pastor: Red Bull, coffee, crazy kids, lock-ins (oh wait, I hated those), loud music, making kids eat disgusting things that I would never eat, etc. One thing I really disliked about being a youth pastor, however, was that I never got to preach on Easter. Youth group was always canceled on Easter Sunday so that we could all be with our...

A BAD Way to Invite Someone to Church
I got pulled over yesterday. I was coming home a different way from work, and instead of pulling onto the freeway (like normal) where the speed limit is 70, I pulled onto the highway where the speed limit is 55…but I was still doing almost 70 (67 to be exact). That’s when I saw him. Like a bird of prey waiting to swoop in on an unsuspecting rodent (traveling illegally at a high rate of...

Christians and Porn
Those two words should NEVER go in the same sentence together.
Unfortunately, all too often, they do. When they do, it’s normally in the form of a scandal, an affair, or a troubled church. Satan has used sexual sin to pull more pastors down and destroy more churches, families, and marriages than anything else.
I recently taught a message entitled, “Inside-Out Living” from...

Reasons and Ways to Pray
There’s never a reason NOT to pray.
There’s also never a place that you can’t pray.
Just like you can eat green eggs and ham in a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse, you can do the same with prayer - any time, anywhere!
Although there are always reasons and ways to pray, our prayer as the leadership of Awaken Church is to be a church of prayer. We want to stress the...

All-New Blog Layout
I changed up my blog and changed the address to blog.kevmill.com. If you follow my blog in an RSS reader or anything, you’ll want to change the address in there. Otherwise, you’ll think I’m a super-slacker that never blogs. You would be wrong.
I hope you enjoy the new layout. Look forward to lots of great stuff coming your way here soon.
All of the old blog posts will still be...

Worship Night
My good buddy, Nick Crespo, worship leader at Calvary Albuquerque, joined us for a night of worship last Wednesday. He and his family spent their family vacation out here in Tennessee, so of course I put him to work! Normally on Wednesday nights, he leads worship for about 2,000 people, so leading for about 20 was a lot different, I’m sure. He’s done it before, though - his family...
